Overview of the Role:
The (Senior) Brand Manager of Safer™ is the Manager of Woodstream’s entire Safer® portfolio of products with primary responsibility of engaging the organization in the tactical execution of the plans that consistently deliver the annual FY growth objectives – NIS (top-line sales), EBIDTA (bottom-line profit), market dollar-share.

This role involves contributing to the management of the P&L to deliver topline (NIS) growth above market growth that results in $-share gains as well as managing product mix and profitability to deliver EBITDA and Contribution Margin % growth.  A successful candidate must be adept at understanding levers of growth within the CPG business model and be a confident manager to outline and successfully enroll the organization in a focused growth vision.  The current model being utilized to outline and manage strategic focus areas is the Must Win Battle & Micro-Battle construct.

As expected from a (Senior) Brand Manager, strong collaborative relationships must be built within the Brand & Marketing organization – direct reports (if applicable), peers and functional leadership; as well as with key business partners outside of the Brand & Marketing function – such as: Finance, Sales, and technical disciplines like Supply, Manufacturing, Demand Planning and Sourcing teams.  Partnership within B&MO will include: (a.) close collaboration with New Product Development team to identify, qualify and execute (through on-time and on-budget project management) new product launches that deliver long-term growth targets; and (b.) close collaboration with Marketing Communication teams to deliver superior and effective brand building communications across touchpoints and channels (packaging, advertising, digital, etc) as well as relentless pursuit of improved marketing investment ROI and effectiveness. Outside of the B&MO partnership will be essential to successfully influence Customers, evaluate financial feasibility of opportunities, consistently deliver annual cost savings objectives (Project ProTrack) and ensure on-time, in-full delivery of products to Retailers.

The ability to partner with sales for successful new product sell ins and line reviews is critical to successful execution of 4Ps strategy (Product, Price, Place, Promotion) as well as continued growth of distribution and display/promotion opportunities. Understanding of Retailer business model and comfort presenting to Buyers and Buyer management is expected.  Because Amazon is Woodstream’s #1 customer, typically our largest marketing investment, and a consistently growing channel, success at this Retailer is paramount.  The (Senior) Brand Manager of Safer must closely collaborate with the Amazon team and not see this scope as a responsibility that can be outsourced. Diligent partnership in planning and evaluating investments in both top of funnel and bottom of funnel activities is expected.
In addition to strong business management and P&L understanding, the (Senior) Brand Manager of Safer must be a team builder and people leader –positively evolving the culture of the company and the Brand Marketing function.

Frequent and collaborative interactions with CEO, CB&MO, CFO, Chief Sales Officer, as well as the heads of all departments is expected. Occasional engagement with and presentation to Woodstream’s Board of Directors may be required.
